I have started brewing again after ~6 years so looking to upgrade some equipment.  I currently ferment in glass carboys 6.5 and 5 gallon.  Looking for something that is easier to move around, clean and store.  The speidel fermenters look nice but so do some of the stainless steel ones.

Also I was using Beersmith but I have changed computer so need to find a software too.  What's the latest and greatest?

so 5 gallon batches?

I'm not really up to date but I would def look into SS if you can swing it or at least something you can seal up tight and use CO2 to transfer.  one of the things I like about fermenting in something like this is that I can naturally carb during primary.  saves CO2 and reduces the time from brew day to beer in your glass.

I use BeerSmith 3.1.7. Still the best out there for my money. If you don't want to get too fancy, I use plastic 6.5 Big Mouth Bubbler from Northern Brewer. They work well and are easy to clean and inexpensive.

I've been using the Grainfather conicals and glycol chiller.  Dunno if that's what you're looking for, but I love them.

I am a Spike Flex + fan but the Anvil look nice (if you don't need all the bells and whistles) for less money.

Looked at those. I would really like some handles but keep those in mind.

Looks like that Speidel is less than $50 on eBay. Tempting.

Looked at this one on Alibaba. Don't know what shipping would be, tho. I sent an email to find out. I've ordered plenty of stuff from DHgate but never Alibaba.

Different top, and more $$, but similar https://www.deltabre...mtank-8-gallon. To be honest, that conical bottom is pretty useless. Angle is not steep enough and the valve is tiny.

Beersmith will change over to a new computer as long as you can still access the email address you bought the program through. They have a link to get the key renewed on their website.

Well, even though I wasn't looking for a new fermenter, this thread got me buying 2. For $35 a piece it was a no brainer. What's crazy is that it you live near Cape Coral, FL, they're only $18.50. I think it was the idea of having handles that swayed my decision to get new fermenters. I always pictured those big glass carboys doing major damage to my feet at some point.

Apparently, my order was cancelled by the seller. Reason being that the shipping price was fixed for only one fermenter. Oh well, I guess I'll just get one. Still not a bad price.

Looks like they are just hiding the actual price in a shipping charge. Pretty common online sales tactic.

I got one too.  The Spike Flex + look very nice. If I really start back brewing a lot I will get one.   We have came a long way from bucket and carboys.

I will have to check.
