It's pretty much on par with the commercial version, perhaps a tad bit darker, but not by much.
Post a picture of your pint...

That's a beauty. I remember listening to that particular podcast and it made me want to get some Genessee and some Little Kings. How was it working with so much corn?
the corn does add a sweetness that's welcome and adds to the flavor- next go ahead, i'd tone down the corn by a half pound; I used Briess's Brewers malt as a base. We did a small inter-club comp with the recipe; just 1 vote per member i cleaned up pretty well!

The summer pale ale with Apollo, El Dorado and Lemon Drop. This is a delicious beer. It's drinking more like a "summer blonde ale"... I should have used two ounces each of El Dorado and Lemon Drop late but lesson learned. I have a late-hopped Cascade Pale Ale fermenting now that had more late hops and I have a beer coming up with El Dorado, Lemon Drop, Simcoe and Amarillo which should do the trick. Cheers.

Brewed this late fall last year- It was a Sam Adams Holiday Porter Clone from a BYO article from a few years back- This was available in the winter seasonal mixed 12 pack until 5 or 6 years ago; I always enjoyed it, and was a gateway beer for me. Its lighter in color and body from the original, IIRC- and at the same time, I still tweaking my new (at the time) grain mill to get the typical house efficiency. this is a left over bottle from the keg- when young, while ok, it didn't taste like all the flavor melded; today, after all this time in cold storage, its tasting better! who knew?

My latest 5.5% hoppy Czech lager, Polotmave Specialni. Still needs a bit of lagering to clear up. If I didn't know it was hopped with Sterling, I'd think it was saaz. malty, hoppy, and a bit of resin. I really love this beer and will brew it again with Czech yeast.

A pint of AMC please!
it's a hike to get here but that would be appropriate for this beer
seriously though this is a really nice beer. I pretty much always go for this if I'm having more than one beer. I already kicked the keg that was citra/chinook/simcoe but really I like this one just as much. it's less intense but very nice.
