Thats a big ass version of Chils patented ‘humulus bandit’. Awesome.
What am I looking at!?
Yep, I got way too many laughs out of that pic last night. Reminded me of Tyrone Biggums' toilet jar on Dave Chapelle.

You and I probably have different expectations when it comes to hops but I made an APA bittered with Horizon and then 2 ounces of Styrian Goldings and another 2 ounces of Cascade in the last 10 minutes. I expected some amount of pleasing late-hop character. There isn't as much as I would typically get. These Cascades were 9% and I only mention that to see if we used the same harvest and maybe there was something lacking in them... were they short on some aromatic oil or something? I'm going to try this beer again tonight to get a feel for it but I was really surprised I didn't get more punch.

These were 6.4% and I got them from Hops Direct. This was the first time using them so it was a brand new pound I cracked open. I also used 1oz of cry hops that I expected to really bump up the final product.
Here is the schedule
22g Warrior 14.6% at 25
28g Cascade 6.4% at 10
56g Cascade 6.4% at 0 (steep)
112g Cascade 6.4% at DH (Keg/spund)
28g Cascade Cry Hop 26% at DH (Keg/spund)
I was just hoping for a really nice cascade aroma and not sure where it went.

Okay, here's my Cascade Pale Ale. I take it back... I'm getting what I expected here. When I sampled it the first time I had been drinking another beer prior to that and my taste buds were tricking me. Turned out well.

Here's the batch of lager I made with 940 after it sat awhile and I detected some diacetyl. I warmed it up and it cleaned up nicely & turned out to be a great beer...

How do you take such lovely beers minus any sweat on the glass? Is it because I live in spirit crushing humidity? Do you wipe the glass?
It's been on the dry side here. We had some spirit-crushing humidity but over the past 4-5 days the humidity has been low. I tapped the beer, ran outside and quickly snapped the pic.

NOICE! Welcome back my friend.

Ken, what is with "The Tap" glasses. I like them but notice you have them in all different styles.

I ... ahem ... borrowed them from a place where my daughter went to school. If I'm ever with my wife or daughter at a bar or restaurant and I say to either of them, "This is a really nice beer glass"... that's their cue to try to covertly get it into their purse. I only have the two of them pictured on this page... one for lagers and one for ales. I was out with my wife and her sister and this place had these nice, tall pilsner glasses. I said to my wife "These are really nice beer glasses" and my wife explained what that meant to my SIL. My SIL said, "Having one probably isn't good... let's take TWO of them" and she put two in her purse. The next time she was over I tapped her a beer in one of those glasses and she burst out laughing.

Nothing wrong with that. I like the lager one with the base. Looks really nice filled too!

On the one side it says THE TAP with the small red tap. On the other side it's just a larger red tap. That lager is so clear that the bigger tap from the other side of the glass is showing. I think that places assume that some of their glassware is going to sprout legs. I have asked some places if I could buy a glass. Some places say YES and others say NO. If they say NO then I say, "You know that I could just take it, right?"
