Here's the first of my new lower-O2® beers. Bordertown Mexican Dark Lager...
I put this beer on tap earlier this week. My son has been home with his girlfriend and two of my sisters were here last night for a few hours. I may have had two glasses of this beer. At about 10pm last night my son was tapping a beer and the keg blew. I was shocked, appalled, sad, disappointed and pissed all at the same time. I can't believe a keg went that quickly and I had so little of it... especially when it's one of my favorites. I still have 940 active so I'm clearly making it again. Easy come, easy go.

Earlier this week? Son, GF, 2 Sisters and Kenx2... ~40 minus 2 = 38 pints. Well done by the fam
Yeah, my college-sophomore, 20-yo son can't help himself when free beer comes out of the wall. I honestly can't believe it's gone already. I need to go downstairs and replace it with my Hacienda Lager keg that's waiting. I also have a grad party this weekend and it's Memorial Day weekend so I really need to get my inventory back up. Cheers Brother.

In terms of the true low-O2 and my slightly-adjusted "lower-O2", this beer was really fantastic. It was clear, smooth, fresh, balanced, etc. and it may be one reason it went so fast... super drinkable. I realize the low-O2 guys would wince because of the changes that I made but they were changes that worked for me and made me proud to say that I brewed this beer... and subsequent beers.
940 is fantastic and I really don't brew with it enough. Coincidentally I have Bayern waiting patiently and it will be the next lager yeast I brew with when the 940 is retired. I'm brewing tomorrow evening (the summer pale ale with 1056) and there will be a string of those beers as well. Cheers peeps.
