I know. When it's done right the combination is great, I agree. My guess is that I still hop a beer like that less than most people but I still enjoy the character of it. Also, I have never had the 'petroleum' issue with Amarillo as some others mentioned. That would be vey discouraging to say the least. Cheers.

The beer I posted is  5g batch with only 14.5oz.  :1zhelp:

Session beer or American Mild or whatever you like.  3.5% with Simcoe, Nelson and Citra.  Amazing how the Nelson is really forefront for being such a small addition compared to the simcoe.

Coffee Porter.

Hello,

Based on Ken's input I made Jamil's Vienna - wow.

Used 2206 yeast.

It scored 42 at our local competition  ( https://www.garagebrewers.com/cop/)  and placed 1st.

Not sure how to get my pic to show with out the click... hosted on Google Photos site.

Congrats. Yeah, that's a great beer. Your color looks a little more pale than the batches I have made but you just can't argue with the drinkability of that beer. Nicely done.

The blondle ale I made with Mt. Hood, Liberty and 1028 London. Not a true "British Blonde" but the 1028 adds a little bready goodness to the mix.

Hmm, how's that for weird mojo? I just went to refill my glass and KKKKSSSSHHHHH! Keg's out! So the pic I posted was the last glass of this blonde ale. NEXT! A keg of Pilsner made with 2124 which has been lagering for 8 weeks. WHOO!

For my birthday several years ago a friend gave me a sixer of Westvletern: four 12s, an 8 and a Blonde.  What great friend!

Vented then hammered the tap into my cask of Landlord-ish bitter. Here is the first pour. Nice mildly bready malt and a tasty mouthful of earthy and fruity styrians on the finish. Could not be happier.

Here is immediately after the second pour(s) (down my throat)

He is indeed a good friend, and person in general.  And that's a good song... ;)

That guy has one of best beer cellar collections I've seen.  It looks like an actual bottle shop in his basement.  With multiple bottles of vintage beers lined up on shelves.  I'm insanely jealous of it, but very thankful for the awesome gift a few years back.

Neddles... love the look of that bitter. That's something I will make occasionally as well. I know you like your 1469 (as do I) and I will also make it with 1968, 1099, 1028, etc. Delicious looking beer and WOW did you get it nice and clear too. Tally Ho!!

Thanks Ken. Dead simple recipe and it went into the cask exactly 2 weeks ago with a 1/2 t. of gelatin and 2.5oz priming sugar. Really happy with this one. The only thing I don't like is the bruise on my finger from whacking it when driving in the spile!
