I have resolved to fill growlers for people at work this year just to clear out keg space

Just got back from vacation and had this carbing while I was gone. Had a few glasses today and it is delicious! Has a nice hop aroma and red color. Will take a pic tomorrow or so and post it up.

Took a growler to the beer club meeting last night and got a lot of compliments. We're going to be doing a pro-am brew with Odell's later this year and I'm thinking about making another batch and entering it into the comp for that. It will be brewed with their yeast because Doug doesn't want any "foreign" yeasts in his brewery but I don't think that will change the character too much.

I may enter this one in a couple of contests to see how it does.

14B was my first thought. Do you think it would fit into 10B as well?

It's possible. This beer is right in between those styles. You might consider entering both and see which one it does better in. The thing that concerns me about 10B is "Low to moderate hop aroma from dry hopping or late kettle additions of American hop varieties." The hop aroma in this may be more than just moderate. On the other hand, the AIPA style says, "Medium-high to very high hop bitterness, although the malt backbone will support the strong hop character and provide the best balance." The hop bitterness is rounded and smooth and that might lead a judge to conclude that it's not bitter enough. It'll be interesting to see what comments you get back.

Might as well enter both and see what happens. Now I get to but my shiny new beer gun to use! :cabbagepatch:
