Dortmunder is boiling as I type. The garage smells nice.

I already have a festbier/marzen in a keg but I think I'm going to do my 60/40 pils/Munich 2 festbier on Friday. I have successfully brewed my ass off to fill all 10 of my kegs with this next batch. Hooray!

No brewing this weekend. It's the first weekend in about 2 months that I have not brewed. I have a beer in primary that will be kegged sometime next week and I'll probably brew next weekend. I have some 2278 that is 4 batches in so it's got enough left for another one or two.

No brewing here for the next 2 weeks; next brewday is on 9/16.
Planning out a strong-ish porter, ~8%. Need something strong and roasty for fall and this should fit the bill.

I've got a German Hefe to keg tomorrow, and picked up supplies for a Rye Porter and a Black IPA from the store today.

Rye Porter? I have to say, that scratches me where I itch. I think it sounds like my next beer. Staying away from C-hop centric pale ale. Do you have s proven tested and brewed recipe?

Did an APA and a weissbier this morning. Dortmunder on deck for tomorrow. Daisy-chained a couple of sanitized kegs to a blow-off tube on the APA. Gonna use all that free, pure CO2 to purge them.

I did a Stick in your Eye Rye Porter quite a while back. I'll see if I can find my notes. Was good as I recall

Found my notes. Apparently I was quite impressed by my brewing in 2005 according to my comments. The recipe isn't worth posting.
This one was about 2011 or so and I called it a rye stout. I remember liking it and trust my tasting notes on it quite a bit more. Must have had bad efficiency though.........
12 gal
15 lb 2-row
6 lb rye
10 oz roasted barley
1 lb chocolate rye
.75 lb c-40
.73 lb c-120
75 min boil
6 oz cascade 5.5 aau - FWH
1 oz bravo 14.2 aau - 60 min
OG 1.052 - 54 IBUs - Wyeast 1272

Got a German style pils in the fermenter with GW Idapils malt, Yakima Chief American nobles, and Lallemand Diamond Lager yeast. In the next few days, a pretty straightforward APA to test the new GW Brumalt. I'll use Lalemand BRY-97 for that one.

I used BRY-97 once. The beer was fine but man was that a sloooow starting yeast.

Made a 60/40 Pils/Munich 2 Festbier with 2278 last Sunday. When that beer goes to its keg, all of my 10 kegs will have beer in them. When the next keg kicks I will make one more beer with this 2278 (a Czech Pils) and then I'll retire it. I have an pale ale, ESB, MLPA and some other stuff on the schedule to brew with 1099 as the fall begins.
