Interesting, I have as much tubing or maybe more and have foaming issues.

Competition bottles get chilled before filling but not growlers. When I first started using it, I was really surprised how well it worked.

And I clean and sanitize it with one of these. It takes a couple of minutes.

One of the best things I have made!

I will have to try it again at normal pressure and see.

is it a lot cheaper than buying the ones from B3 or similar?  I haven't looked at pricing on those in a while.  probably another good thing to get or build.

The one pictured isn't mine. I didn't use the brass piece. My post is threaded directly to the sprayer with some teflon tape. It doesn't leak. I had a post and a universal poppet so I was only out $6 for the sprayer.

I know some people will swear by a counter pressure filler but it's kind of a pain in the ass to use. The beer gun is a breeze. I only hook it up to gas for bottling. I don't bother for filling growlers.

I agree with this statement on ease of use.

Drez has his on the green part. Mine is on the black. A couple of wraps of teflon then crank it on there.

This can be had for cheaper: https://www.northern...ppet-valve.html

I've heard that the regular poppets don't always seat nice in this application. The universal ones work great.

I might have some around - I'll have to check that out if I'm having problems.  HD website even tells me the location in the store.  E6, bay 003 here I come!

so beer gun seems like it's $75 pretty much everywhere.  how much are the extra parts needed to actually make it work?

I will also give the nod to the beer gun. I never have to turn down the pressure either while filling. 11-12 psi seems to work just fine without foaming.

Luckily I got mine for free from a raffle in my homebrew club. So I can't say I would have bought one by know. But I am sure glad I have it. If you do lots of bottling that you want the beer to hold up for long period of time then I would say it is worth it. I know I feel better about a beer that I enter into a comp or give bottles away for gifts that may not get drank right away. Or long term ageing of something. I didn't get the accessory kit. I had enough things laying around to hook it all up.

Jan.16 I will be running my first batch through the new Ebrewery so I'm really excited about that. Otherwise..

* Design and brew a session Gr. Lager. Must be full bodied with a big hop flavor. 3-3.2% ABV

* Continue with various 5g batches of Sour beer, Bretts, etc using different techniques

* Continue the barrel program and prepare to add another barrel to the project

* Help design and build a club brewery

Other than that it will be another year of the same-o same-o

The one I use is borrowed from a friend who has 2. I probably wouldn't have bought one before having used it. I'd have limped by with the picnic tap/hose set up and the counter pressure filler. When/if my buddy asks for his back, I'd definitely buy one now.
