A style that doesn't give much love anymore- Scottish 60. poured through a intertap stout tip. big flavor for a 3% beer

Nice. I used to make a version around 4% with Wyeast Scottish 1728. Looks good.

Would you care to share the recipe? Big flavor for a 3% beer has peaked my interest :) Kinda along the lines of our "mild" discussions

Yes please, post the beer in the recipe section when you can. The one I made had brown sugar added to the boil and then late in the boil there was an addition of maltodextrin to produce a bit of body since the beer was a lower ABV. Hops were relatively low and the 1728 yeast has a really nice UK-type character that you could easily reuse in a bitter, EPA, mild or other british-style ale.

Ill post it up once i get back home this morning. Super simple recipe, but the secret weapon is a dash of flaked oats in the grist.

A gold lager. 50/25/25 Barke Pils/Vienna/Munich 1 with Magnum to bitter and a bit of late Hallertau. S-189 on the yeast. This beer is drinking beautifully.

Beet Red American Ale with only Simcoe and Cascade shining through. Sometimes it’s good to be in the RED

No beets coming through. It’s young and is still clearing but I was excited to try it!

I'm trying to think of ways to one-up you but I don't think it's possible. A blue beer, maybe a fluorescent green beer... I got nothing. When I asked myself what I could add to my beer to get a wild color like that, I said BEET'S ME! Maybe I'll blend up some fresh basil and make a green PESTO beer! :D

Laugh it up funny boy. If you recall I had sights set on a mild mannered APA, had everything weighed and measured and then lost the mojo to carry it out. Enter the beet thingy :) While I'm relieved there's no beet flavor and it's a great taster, I'm inclined to think it too gimmicky for a lame dude like me, so prolly a one-and-done batch.

Ken, maybe you can design a madras colored beer? AND.... I've toyed with the idea of making a very light, hot summer day, beach beer with a slight hint of tomato/basil. Gone so far as to think about dehydrating some plum tomatoes and perhaps caramelizing them a little. Or procuring tomato powder.... Who wouldn't want 5 gallons of tomato/basil infused beer amaright?
