Are you drinking beer at 9:37am on a weekday?! Looking good.
It's been a long week. And it's Friday. So I have that going for me, which is nice.

That Amber looks delicious. I was actually reading up on Altbier this morning. Heading in that direction for my next batch.

Latest beer: did a 3.8% west coast style "IPA"- I wanted something hoppy, and that i could have 2 or 3 after work and not wake up with a headache. 50/50 split of two row and marris otter, and a dash of carapils, and table sugar. Hop schedule was first wort with warrior, CTZ at 10 minutes, and a hop stand with Centennial. no sparge method to avoid tannin extraction. overall, Im pleased, but, there is a harsh finish; did the no sparge method to avoid tannins, but the more i think about it, it may be the 12 AAUs of Warrior in the first wort hop. I'll try again.

Warrior is a bodacious hop, my brother.

I wasn't familiar with this beer so I looked it up and see that it's a pale ale with Cascade. Last weekend I went to the local bottle shop to look for just that... an APA with Cascade or other hop that is similar. Really hard to find and this bottle shop is big. So many sours, IPAs, IIPAs, stouts and funk beers. Quite a few porters too. Of course they had a lot of "gold lagers". I looked and looked and finding an APA like that is not easy. I have a beer going into a keg any day now that is a 5% APA finished with late Cascade and Glacier. I plan to make another one too. I ended up walking out of the bottle shop with a 12er of Daisy Cutter (heavy, heavy Citra) and something called Paled It! from Saugatuck Brewing which was also very cirtusy. I don't mind that type of beer but I feel like it's overdone and finding a nice pale ale with a cleaner finishing hop is something I'm always interested in. The late hops can have BIG flavor but how about something like Liberty or Santiam or Glacier (one of my favorites) or Crystal or Ultra... some cleaner hops?

Usually I don't use sugar on a low gravity beer. Were you trying to make it very light in terms of body?
Correct, sir.
