To many of you cohabitating hetros were taking advantage of the couples rate...

Actually we dropped the discount last year with the price drop. This year they dropped it again due to the bbq and breakfast being stopped. The main volunteers who ran that part said it was too much work. Moving the beer pairing to Saturday instead to lighten up the schedule. CRABS should be taking friday dinner up a couple notches to compensate.

New site is better in many ways. Its a little too spread out to be perfect but it has a full stage, power, and water. Price is also better which is a why the price was dropped last year.

Its farther, but it is all main roads and none of that backwoods winy shit.

Sort of. There will be some sort of official food and beer pairing that will devolve into a potluck. An official food and beer pairing for those that brought something and then an all camp pot luck / vulture fest for whats left over as official pairings. We're still trying to figure out how exactly that will work. It won't be the pig fest it was, but more of an full potluck. We had a couple of smokers going for most of the weekend last year so that probably will figure into the CRABS camp's offerings.

Frying will definitely happen, probably on Friday. This is the one thing I like about moving the food and beer pairing. Really need to keep it earlier in the day, drunks and propane fryers only mix so far.

This also leaves more room for Sour Hour (if you like infected beer). There will be more effort put into organizing that. I think there will be some cheese pairings this year.

I'm not sure what the CRABS Food Comp is but there will definitely be one.  If you have any thoughts on topics I can submit them.

My only thought is that you knock your wife off the food comp judging committee. I think she has it out for me.

I think I'd fair better if the wife wasn't judging as well.

You all missed when our fry-miester almost managed to blow up two different cars. Previously frozen ravioli fireball.

Mushroom clouds make everything taste better.

Food comp is leaning forcefully toward tacos (including other shell foods such as wraps and gyro type things).

I'm probably out this year for the food comp. After I saw what won for the food on a stick thing I realized it's really just a popularity contest. That entry had no business winning anything.

You should have wrapped your junk in taffy.

Is that something you would like to try?

Count down is on.

Got a lager chilling away that turned out decent. I'm not a big lager guy but it placed 4th in the club comp as a Dortmunder (Helles Export). Also have a version of my American Amber that is all Simcoe. Dry hopping the ever loving crap out of it. Not sure if the Denny's favorite 50 half or the Dry English will make it up the mountain.

Need to figure out what to bring for beer pairing next.

I have a blonde sour keg from my solera barrel I'm bringing. I also brewed a black lime gose and will sneak in another brew as well to bring. Something for the non sour crowd. Thinking something with rye as I have always brought something with it in it. Will use that for my food/beer pairing.

So no kegs? I was meaning to ask you if you planned on bringing a jockey box, I'm guessing that's a no.

I can still bring my jockey box if you want to use it. Just let me know.

I'm in the same boat. I might see if Ken Lenard will front me a keg of MLPA right from the source.
