Making a 10g finished batch of Denny's RIPA.(mostly)although i increased the rye malt some. And not using Carapils.(mash target is little higher) What should i use 001 slurries or safale 05 (new packets) ? i thought of splitting it and using one of each. Not sure yet.

Unless you have a recipe really dialed into what you want, I always think splitting and comparing is a good idea.

I agree with this except that I'd reverse the 1056 & US-05. You could probably throw WLP051 into that mix somewhere too.

Not for me. I've come to have a definite preference for 1056 over 05.

I say split it.I made some this weekend. the first time I made RIPA i used pale ale malt instead of pale (didn't know there was a diff at the time). the second time I used pale. this time I used 1/2 pale ale and 1/2 pale b/c I kind of liked how the first batch had a lot of body. I think this might be a happy medium.
