It has come a long way for sure and there is a lot more of it. I remember going to the one LHBS here and I would ask the hippie girl who was working there what dry yeast they had available. She would always say, "MUTTONS". That's all they had... Munton's. I will probably fire up a helles and then use it again in a dunkel or maybe a Mexican Vienna. I'll save one of the two packets and do something else with that one. Cheers gang.
FYI, Munton's Gold is very good for British styles. Akin to WY1318.

Really? Stinky? Huh. My two packets of this are in the fridge and it's nice to know I can brew without notice and just go with this yeast. Still not sure what I'm going to make with it yet.Repitched 80ml of clean harvest into a drauflassen starter and had activity in 3hrs. Pitched to 6.6gals 12hrs later and had positive pressure in 4 hrs. It was fermenting like crazy after 24hrs and stinks like a skunk. Very stinky ferment.

Good to know. I'll have to warn my wife that we don't have a gas leak.

I think it'll make the type of beers you and I like pretty well. Pretty neutral from what I got out of my first batch and malty. Definitely stanky though. Skunk-butt.Really? Stinky? Huh. What the hell? Did a skunk get in the house?Good to know. I'll have to warn my wife that we don't have a gas leak.
