Does anyone know if this is the Stella Artois yeast? I know it doesn't matter. I'm just always curious of whose strands they are. This may be common knowledge but I haven't seen it anywhere.

Apparently it's a platinum strain, but WLP isn't reporting a source, at least not one that I can locate.

The 815 wasn't on that link you posted (I see you removed it...).I did find this... White Labs 815: Clean, crisp European lager yeast with low sulfur production. The strain originates from a very old brewery in West Belgium. Great for European style pilsners, dark lagers, Vienna lager, and American style lagers.Does Stella have any funkiness at all or is it just a clean, crisp pilsnery kind of thing? I haven't had one in a long time. I see that SA is brewed in Leuven, Belgium which is sort of central Belgium, just east of Brussels. Doesn't necessarily mean anything though.

it's pretty minimal if it does. wiki says it's a lager for what that's worth.

I wasn't sure what Belgian breweries made Lagers really. I mean any that were on the map. Stella here doesn't have much funk. More skunk since it comes over in those wonderful green bottles. It's pretty clean as far as I remember.

Yeah, the link was unresponsive to his question. Wyeast has a Leuven yeast strain but it's an ale.
