And his liver is like a super fermentor, and he pisses IPA!

Then channeling doesn't occur or matter. Try the braid first. It's easier to make and in my experience better than a manifold. If you decide you don't like the braid, then you can go to the effort of building a manifold.

I still have my components from my old mashtun, everything except the cooler  and plan on using my old braid. As usual thanks for the help guys.

Don't forget to spin around three times, shotgun a beer, and yodel when you sparge. You get another 10 -15 pts of gravity easy. Works every time. :PCheers,Rich

I've gotten better results with the musical approach. Widespread Panic is what you want to sparge with. Maybe Little Feat.

You must be a northerner, that doesn't work down south.

Are you kidding me? Drive 20 minutes outside of Tampa and you are in redneckville. Many commute into Tampa too (me). The northerner transplants say "yall" in about 2 weeks. They are rednecks within months. If you recall I had a rattle snake in my yard last week and gators in the pond. So, yes, Tampa is in the South. We are just higher class rednecks.

I'm surpised Denny talks so much about the braid when it is obvious from pictures he prefers the ponytail :)

In Florida, mullets are something you smoke.

Followed them quite a bit in college. Installed the bazooka screen and ball valve. The spigot in the Coleman Extreme was an absolute bitch. I thought I could just unscrew it from the inside and keep the spigot for if I ever needed the cooler again. Nope. Spigot is in three pieces. It is leaking though so I have to fix that tomorrow. Tired of messing with it right now.

Mine leaked too. I sealed it up with some RTV. In fact I think I've had to do that with every hole I've ever made in a plastic cooler.

RTV? Did you seal it from the inside or outside?

I kept and used the original washer from the Extreme with a spigot installed. Never dripped in however many years I've been using it.
