New element came today and I found a spare biab bag. I will clean everything while I Wfh Friday and try again this weekend.

Get it! How long has it been since you've brewed?
I have strike water heating, need to go weigh and crush some grains.

This was only my second brew in the new brew space, but it was very nice. I had bought some things to further outfit. I really like brewing indoors and not having to get everything out and move it around.

I thought I was an infrequent brewer. My last was in November. I'm going to try to make it every 6 weeks or so now. Just had other projects.
WFH in my basement for 2 years really put a damper on brewing. I was spending 8 hours a day down there and did not want to go down longer to brew. Now that I am back 3 days a week the kids activities are ramping up and I am coaching my son's baseball. So time is limited but I really want to get back at it. If I can get a batch in every 4-6 weeks I would be really happy.

Have you gone to 240V yet?
Indoor is sooooo nice!

Looking at another brew Friday. Gonna have 3 going at once. Good thing I picked up that 3rd Tilt from Ken on the cheap. It will probably be a Tripel but possibly a NEIPA if my magnet arrives tomorrow. Been wanting to try the magnet release dry hop.
Crushed my grain for a Tripel tomorrow. Also did a SNS yeast starter. I'm using a different recipe than normal, though. I might also make some invert sugar as opposed to just regular table sugar. I've made it a few times and it's really good.

I've only brewed one time so far this year. that has to be a recent record. typically I would have banged out 3-4 by now I'm guessing.

Drez, did you test out that new element?
With water
I am going to try to get a batch in this weekend. Between going back into the office and coaching my son's baseball team I have less time now than ever. I just had 3 days off and had hoped to get one in but NOPE. UGH!!

nice. I've found I like a little carahell in a lot of my lighter lagers. what brand of malt are you using for the base?

I'm not sure I've ever used Carahell. The melanoidin is to just give a little hint of grain richness since I don't do a decoction or anything fancy.
And kegging/sampling my SNPA clone. It's at least as good as the commercial product, seems even better maybe due to freshness.

Briess most recently. I know opinions are mixed but I get good results (to my tastes).

I'm not sure where you source your grain but I've heard good things about CMC superior pilsen which is probably in a similar price range. I generally use best malz for my pilsner, vienna and munich malts.

Ritebrew. To be clear, I'm happy with it. I've used it as my only base malt with limited exceptions for a few years.
oh yeah, I'm just saying if you wanted to sample other options.
