Holy hell... I have water heating to de-oxygenate. Brewing may really happen!
Or not...

Well, I tried. Forgot one crucial thing and ended up scorching the bag on the element. Bag is traahed, element may be ruined as well and I am pretty pissed at myself. Not to mention the wasted grain. Trying to sneak a brewday in is just not working these days. Time to reevaluate what I do moving forward.

It's alright. I think we've all had days that don't go as planned. The key for me is preparation. Maybe it is for you too. I know if I try to squeeze my brewing in and I don't start it with everything ready it's a recipe for a bad day. Sometimes I get lucky when I do this but sometimes I'm not.

I'm sure there's got to be a way to get all that off.

I assume emery cloth will do it but it will be a pita. The nylon is burned in the middle where it is hard to reach. I assume I will just buy a new one unfortunately.

Can you just burn the rest off? Maybe using a torch?

I can try. Seems the coating on the element is impacted as well. Not sure what that may mean. Off flavor? Rust? Not sure.

Ah, understood. I didn't know there was a coating. I obviously don't know much about these elements.

That blows. I think I'm doing another brew on Tuesday. Either a Tripel or Lithuanian Farmhouse.
Decided to brew the Lithuanian Farmhouse.
