If not then very close, yes. The dip tubes and post bodies look very similar to my regular corny keg posts.

To be clear when I say not flat I don't mean in a uniform way. It's like one part of the edge was curled down extra.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean.

like this?

I've slowly been replacing all my poppets with these.

They are a game changer. I remember making fun of them when they first came out... I take it all back now.

I just got done racking a beer into a couple kegs with them. They are a game changer indeed. I plan to order more. I had some issues with my new set-up racking that including what seemed a lot slower transfer. I thought maybe the diameter of the floating dip tube hose. But it's probably just a combination of things.

I have noticed a slower transfer with them. I just blamed it on hops clogging shit.

I don't think it made much difference for me.

I'm not sure I've gone that high before.  I think maybe 7-8oz for 5 gallons.

I have done it in 2 stages.  There are other issues that come with going that high and truthfully I am not sure I enjoy it all that much.  I have been slowly backing down my amount and changing some process and liking a lower 3-5oz DH beer better.  All personal preference though.

I forgot about some of my two stage hopping schemes.  maybe I approached that - not sure....

on this last beer I put in 5.5-6oz per 5 gallon keg.  that's probably about the max for what I do now.  sometimes I only do 2-3oz if I'm just looking for a nice hoppy level that doesn't blow you out of the water.

When you guys do 2 stages is the first in the fermenter and then second in the keg?

I have gone both ways with good results.  If I do it all in the fermenter the first DH will be a few days into fermentation and the second will be after the cold crash, warm back up to the 60's and dry hop for a couple of days and then give it another crash.

I hadn't thought of that approach. Sounds like a winner. Gets the yeast to crash before the hops.

So I used the floating dip tube on the IPA I kegged today plus dry hopped.

Anyone just decide to use these for everything? Seems you would get clearer beer. Not a great value, though.

Yes. You’ll definitely get clearer beer. That was the original intent behind the development of these. Fewer wasted yeasty pints too.

I don't mind the initial non clear pints. But I do mind clogged dip tubes which is why I'll probably just use these on my dry hopped beers.

I think I have 6 kegs outfitted with them.  I use them most of the time.  I do have a few regular kegs with cut diptubes I use too but not as often.

I got most of mine back when they were about  $15 at Moreber.
