Glad I ditched the braid for a manifold.

My copper manifold doesn't collapse, cleans as easy as a braid, and looks shiny and new after every batch! No drooling necessary, shamwow sold separately
HA!So you take yours apart to clean it! I just shove a hose in the outlet and "job done."On second thought, I'm starting to sound like that nit picker Dale.. :)Please forgive me.Your manifold is perfectly OK with me...Mine are not soldered. But you could solder just a few pieces and still be able to take it apart.

Well, to be honest, if you hook a mash paddle under it, you can lift it to the surface. But it pushes right back down.If you switch to a manifold, you might want to turn down the bionics a bit.Violent stirring will disassemble a manifold. And then you have a real mess on your hands. Not really a problem. But I do get frustrated with the braid "coming up" when I am stirring. And I stir the hell out of it after every water addition. ...

Tell me about it... 10 gallons of a Pilsner Urquell were nearly ruined because the manifold fell apart (made of cpvc). After that, I strategically glued some pieces together. Can still take it apart, but it's not going to come apart during stirring.Well, to be honest, if you hook a mash paddle under it, you can lift it to the surface. You're obviously not stirring in a "manly fashion" <_<Hey, I've seen these over-active stirrers rip out a piece of braid,so the secret is to know where the bottom of the tun is, and slow down.Think of it as the brewer's version of Miss Utility.Ive never had a problem w/my manifold dismantling during dough in. Not once.
