I think that it started that way, but has changed up to ship when you are ready. I plan to ship earlier than I would if I had to wait for the box to travel the country.

Maybe not simultaneous, but when you have a beer ready in a reasonable time frame. If I had a great fresh IPA I would want to send it ASAP, and I am sure the recipient would prefer that as well. I say communicate with your recipient; find out what styles they like, let them know what you have ready or in the pipeline and send them a box of beer at the time agreed.

I'm gonna wait for Dan to chime in before I do anything. I'd be fine with just using our own boxes. My BBFF is tag and I'm planning to see him soon anyway so I'll take my beer to him.
