The Bruery RugbrodI saw this in the grocery store yesterday. I was tempted until I saw "IPA". Bleh. I am past my "see what drinking a very bitter beer is like" phase. Is there a good rye that is not an IPA?

Yeah, I would consider it more top end of Cat 6d if you had to label it. Actually an American Rye can be a nice session beer. Nice when the weather is warmer, or whenever.......Got mine.....Im digging it. Its not as Rye forward as most Rye beers but its defiantly there. This is my kind of beer. Dry, reasonably bitter but not to much (balanced actually) and a nice hop bouquet, on the pallet and big on the nose.Nice job Basser. I will drink more of this and hope its out again next year!

I don't buy it. Either it is looked at as a slight, unacceptable bottleneck in production or someone needs to learn how to lauter. Hell, charge a few more cents to make it worth the while. Our lauter won't really handle more rye without slowing it seriously down or screwing the pooch entirely.MolBasser
