That seems to go counter to brewing science and all the anecdotal evidence I’m aware of but if you say so

Not the latest brewing science.

oops, that's a reply to something else.  Here's the reply to your comment...

I'm not saying you shouldn't try to avoid oxygen.  But I also feel like homebrewers are way too hung up on it. Briefly removing an airlock for 5 seconds from a homebrew size fermenter to add dry hops isn't going to negatively affect your beer.

Was that in response to me? I know the latest info I read says leaving the hops in there long term is not supposed to be the best. Just saying what my experience has been. I sometimes wonder if it works because I'm constantly pulling hop matter into my glass.

Word that makes a lot more sense.

So over the past few days I've been letting what was left in primary settle and then I'd rack what I could, wait and repeat. Today I gave up and cleaned the hop sludge out of my primary. If the smell of what I just dumped down the drain is any indicator I didn't do a good job pulling the goodness out of those hops. Maybe this isn't a useful indicator though.

Funny you mention this. I cracked the lid on my Flex this morning and the smell in the brewery is amazing and much more intense than the beer I have been pouring.  I am happy with the beer since it is a low abv crusher but I will go back to crash - warm to 60 and dh with an upper limit of 65 and then crash again before packaging.
