Got a new pc (never had anything high end before) with 32gb ram and a 2070 super card that should allow playing at 4k. Also, 43" 4k TV and a yoke/throttle/rudder controller set.
Anyone else considering it?

Let us know how you like it. I've always been a sucker for flight simulator games. My dad always had MS flight simulator. I played a lot of pretty bad flight/combat simulation games as a kid, as well.

So, after take-off, what do you do? Can you get up and walk around the cabin? Can you depressurize the cabin? Are their screams muffled in the lower atmospheric pressure?

A main reason for getting it is to supplement instruction for real flying. Will put up my thoughts later this week.
Oh, cool. Yeah, joking aside I was wondering what was new in this one besides better graphics.

It uses satellite imagery (the Bing equivalent of Google Earth) as the game world. It is a scale reproduction of the whole Earth. It also includes live weather - like whatever the weather is in on Earth is weather in the game. Saw a demo the other day where someone started off in VA and flew into Hurricane Isaias. Looks freakin incredible.

Read the review and watched some clips last night. Wow. Shoot, im almost tempted to grab it just to get out and see the world. Might need a bigger monitor, but i've got plenty of hardware to drive it.

After getting the yoke, throttle levers, etc. working I just flew around during the first training session in Sedona with a big grin. It's pretty awesome so far.
Might need to find a less reflective TV screen if possible, getting glare from the windows in the room.

If microsoft is smart (and they aren't) they will release an expansion called Fight Simulator.

Landings tonight. Made an OK landing on first try, but couldn't find the brakes. Went into the parking lot and through a minivan. Got to see the dude inside. Must not have the gore setting on cause it was uneventful.
so how detailed is the model of the person? just curious.
