We wouldn't want you any other way my man. I'm betting two will be perfect and you're going to have a fantastic beer. Save the slurry. If it's anything like 34/70 it'll get even better with next batches.

over 36 hours and no activity yet. I actually cracked open the fermenter and took a quick peek. no bubbles or anything in the middle of the surface of the wort. I can't see the edges so there could have been something over there I couldn't see but who knows. the part I could see was perfectly still and smooth looking. hopefully those yeasties are getting ready to rock. I like to see some action by the 48 hour mark for sure!

I hope not! the packets looks good. the seal on them was very tight and the best by date was sometime in 2020 I think.

I could say the same, well maybe not 2020, on mine.

not sure - it's a blow-off so it's a little tough to see but I'll try.

so the tube is in the bottom of a 2qt pitcher with about 1qt of starsan in it. I lifted the tube less than an inch and some bubbles come out so I guess some positive pressure??? not sure if the normal cooling/heating cycle in the fermentation chamber could cause this as well. I'd like to see at least a slow stream of bubbles coming out.

^^ you probably know this; lager yeast is typically calmer when fermenting. I bet there is activity, just not at full speed yet. Keep the faith.

Good to here. I usually do 2 packs/5 gallons if I'm doing dry yeast. No starter.

I assume you are talking just lager yeasts, right?

assuming this beer ends up good does anyone have follow up beer suggestions for this particular yeast? pitching on a partial yeast cake is pretty convenient.
