8 app, not desktop. I like the ability to download from the cloud too. Pretty good app.

We are talking the same one then. When I looked into it reviews said it was clunky and slow. Have you noticed that. I will drop 30 bucks on a bottle of sour beer with no hesitation but I want to be sure that 8 dollar app is all it is cracked up to be

I did a brief tour on my iphone and it seemed fine. I am sure that I will find something that I don't like about it, but right now it's nice to have the app on a handheld. The Desktop version has some challenges too in so far that its not always very intuitive, so the mobile may be the same.

What I'd like to see is a mobile client that connects up to a server running locally (not in the friggin "cloud"). The full desktop client would also connect to the same server. This way you could use a tablet or phone to enter data into your brewing session instead of requiring a laptop to do it.
I think if you do a brew session on the mobile app it will update the cloud, not sure tho.

BeerSmith has brewing sessions now?
They use brew logs. You can copy your recipe into the brew log then keep that

Nice. That's what I've been looking for for years. Now if they could lose the cloud bullshit and let me serve up my own "cloud" then they might have something! They use brew logs. You can copy your recipe into the brew log then keep that

I bought it. Going to use it tomorrow. I like beersmith and used the "lite" one when it was out to follow recipes. Now I can edit on the fly and leave my laptop in the house while I brew.

No, you have to have an internet connection. And if I have a LAN, why do I need to store anything in dropbox? You can save stuff on dropbox through a local lan
