I believe the idea is homebrew, but if someone is out and his recipients agree on a couple of locals that would be ok with me.Are we just doing homebrew or local stuff too?

I don't recommend that. There is bacteria in your taps and unless you clean the hell out of them and sanitize, when you bottle you will most likely get an infection. I would say get a beer gun, or make a counter pressure filler if you are going off the keg into a bottle. A cheap way to do it is to get a picnic tap and shove a bit of racking cane into the nozzle. Turn the pressure down low and use it to fill. That is easier to keep clean and sanitized than your taps.Cheers,RichI would be game for this if I can still get in. When filling a beer from your taps how long does it stay carbed in the bottle?

I see no reason why you should not join. Extract makes fine beers and a session beer is a beer in my book.I would be in except I don't think anyone would want extract beer. Plus I don't make big beers yet. Most of my beers OG is around 1.45

Ok, I guess I should have explained how I was planning on filling them. I have a picnic tap that I shoved a bottling wand in the end and will fill them that way. I will clean with BLC and sanitize before I do. I've tried it before once just to see how it worked. It worked good but I immediately just opened and drank it. So I never let it sit to see how long it will stay carbed. I will be more than careful and sanitation. So that being said, how long does a bottle stay carbed when filling from your keg through a clean and sanitized picnic tap?I don't recommend that. I think that I will go to my local homebrew store and get some recipes for extracts for this. Right now I'm doing kits from MW which are good for my palate. This way I can make changes easier.BTW Jdtirado, don't be ashamed of brewing extract beers. There's nothing wrong with that. I brewed some fantastic extract beers before I went all grain. We'd be more than happy to drink them and give you notes on the beer.Cheers,Rich

I have filled bottle the same way and brought them into a brewpub for the brewer. They got lost in the shuffle and 2 months later when we drank them they were excellent.Ok, I guess I should have explained how I was planning on filling them.
