I gravity feed through a float switch, but yes, you're right. I weigh out hops, eat, etc during the sparge.BeachA pump and a float switch are your friends. I can go sit down and have lunch or dinner with the family while the sparge is taking place. Without those tools, I would likely still batch sparge.

That's what I was thinking too. Just about the busiest time of the brew day for me.I barely have time to take a leak during my sparge.

I dont have ball floats or anything of the sort. Once you figure out the in/out rate you can walk away. I do.I have to monitor my sparge, I can't leave for anything during that time.Cheers,Rich

Once you figure out the in/out rate you can walk away. I do.

I batch sparge and I am always worried about something coming loose, losing wort, or the pump running dry.I dont have ball floats or anything of the sort. Once you figure out the in/out rate you can walk away. I do.
