I have to be honest - it's an okay beer. i'm not sure why you'd want to recreate it though. maybe just as a personal challenge?

I asked for it in another conversation. I like it, but of course I probably like a lot of stuff that is just so so. I do know that I won't be drinking Coors or Bud!!!

I think the lowest IBU that I ever saw in a recipe was in Beer Captured and it was for GRAIN BELT. 12 IBUs and I couldn't believe that. 7.7 does not compute. And I'm a guy who makes very low IBU beers compared to other homeys.

it's not that it's bad - it just doesn't have a lot of taste.

Studs is there other beer that is similar that you recommend? We often find Yuengling on draft here in Virginia which is probably why I like it.

If you are looking for lagers I enjoy o'fests, bocks, vienna lagers (no adjuncts), bohemian pils, dunkels - I guess stuff that is generally somewhat malty.

lagers are a little more challenging to make due to the temperature constraints on the fermentation so if you wanted to make an ale I'd give ken's MLPA a try. it's pretty easy drinking and clean and isn't over the top in any way. it does however still have a good amount of taste.

eta: wait - were you asking about what to make or what to drink at the bar?

Sound advice. At some point, I would like to make a lager. Perhaps after I get my temperature controlled conical fermenter...just kidding.

I think I'm going to be one of these guys with all the shiny new gear, but can't brew the most basic beer.

the most basic beers are the least forgiving, and hardest beers to get right you want a challenge try making a perfect clone of Coors Light

Ok insert any Domestic Light Lager, they are difficult to duplicate because of their resemblance to water
