Hence, one of them going out of business and the other thriving. I don't know that he has special supplies to support the process, but he's not an idiot about it. He knows that we do it. Hell, he does it himself. I think if he saw a market out there he would get special supplies to sell. But he's not into buying inventory that won't move, except on the off chance that someone happens along that needs it. He will, on the other hand, look up on the internet WHERE you could get the stuff and reccomend going through there (see the Small Brown Bottle thread). The other guy... assuming he knew what he was doing in the first place, isn't the kind of guy to refer you to someone who COULD sell you what you are looking for.If these guys were smart, not only would they be encouraging it, they'd be stocking supplies to do it.

I have 1.5 LHBS, lol, one is a brick and mortar store, the other is a dude that brews more than Blktre and Brewhead combined and sells supplieson the side.I have access to two LHBS. I started getting leary of one of them when he dissed my practice of re-using yeast. He DID feel like it was cheating him out of a sale. The other one laughed when I told him this and said that he routinely talks to his customers about it and encourages it. I've heard rumor the first one is going out of business. I have used the US-05 on consecutive batches. That would at least drive the cost down.
