Dude, I had that too. I was in this crapole bar and saw it on tap. I was thinking...hey that is new, might be worth a try. FAIL! I was wondering the same thing...did they even put hops in there or just grab that name out of thin air?Had a hop hound ale the other day, made by Michelobe I guess. The beer should not be called that. It was a little sweet and overall just very uninspired. Certainly no hops.

I didn't know Budweiser and Michelob are brewed in Belgium. I thought Bud was brewed in a half dozen to a dozen locations around the States. Obviously there is much more to it as Ommegang was an artesinal brewery that even built it's brewhouse in the style of a Belgian Farmhouse and produces beers in the Belgian styles. I would recommend Hennepin or Three Philosophers as a beer to try from them.By similar reasoning, Budweiser and Michelob might also be good Belgian offerings.

I know Fat Tire gets a lot of heat, but at a lot of places it's the only beer besides BMC on tap. I'm not going to rush out and buy a 6er of it, but sometimes it's the best option. Not a great beer, but okay.
