Having used several different setups on both 110 and 220, lemme tell ya...you want 220.

I'm your Huckleberry.

I'm old enough to know some stuff and, old enough to listen to others who know more.

I need to get the electrician out here anyway. I got some funky outlets in the bedroom and the numb nuts didn't label my breakers in the shop. Need him to drop a breaker for the p-tac for the shop as well. It's hotter than the hinges on the gates of hell out there right now.

Getting excited for this to kick off this Fall.

I've been snipping recipes from HBA that I loved back in the day, (20 years back).

Looks like the old Green Board is dead. AdventuresinHomebrew.com points to a store front in Austin.

Brewboard.com now points to a brewery in the UK. If you click the link Jess has on his site it goes there, not to a message board.

I figured he would have sold the place by now.

Came yesterday and unboxed today. Looks like I need to shorten my water line but that is minimal. So far I am happy with the purchase. First batch should be this weekend if the kids give me enough spare time.

Please post. I haven't purchased the rig yet.

The fermentor came in today and got my hydrometer the other day.

Will do.

I re-wired my control panel tonight to bypass all the temp controllers I used before and fired the unit up. Pump did a good job. I will put some brewery wash in tomorrow and test the heating (thank you wfh day). I am still on track for a batch this weekend. Almost 2 years since my last one, August 15,2021.

So do you still have ingredients or do you need to buy new stuff?

I bought new yeast, dry, even though I have some.  I have grain and hops all ready that have been in storage.  Most of the hops I have bought right before I stalled brewing and are still sealed.

5g of water with some oxiclean. Both elements on, 2400 watts, and the pump circulating. I am pleased with the temp rise from 68° to 159°.

Holds it pretty well as well.  I have watched over the last 45 minutes .. and it goes from 159 to 157 and back up.   I am good with that.  Yes, I realize this is only water and with grain it will be different.

I will also add this is very quiet.  I am sure they all are but I thought my riptide was quiet … but this makes like 0 noise.

Is it double walled? Maybe you could help it with some insulation? I typically just lose about 4 deg if I do nothing. I think anyway, I should check next time I brew.

I think it is single walled.  I may get the neoprene jacket just to have in the winter since my basement gets cool.

I bet that would even things out pretty well.  probably heat up faster and then minimal need to reheat during the mash.

Have not had a chance to brew, needed sanatizer and it took a bit to get. Unit is all clean and ready for this weekend.

One change in made was the lid knobs were awful, one stripped out and they were just small. Printed some new ones I like much better.
