I saw that too. LULZ. I went looking for something there and noticed that the first page there goes back to June 16. :crazy:When I joined there in 2004, it was 2-3 pages per day of content. You almost couldn't keep up with your topics it moved so fast.

The board of green used to be one of the premier web sites for good homebrewing information. When ever I posted about an item that had to be purchased, I made sure to link one of their products. Le Nozzele De' Douche messed up a good source of attention for his store. Kind of pee-ed in his own butt.

NICE!!! I hope you don't mind, but "Le Nozzele De' Douche" will need to be added to my personal lexicon.....CLASSIC.Also, I agree that back in the day, the Green Board was a definite "go to" spot and the time I spent lurking there was directly responsible for turning a nice, relatively inexpensive hobby into a cash gobbling passion.....FWIW, I still make the famous JPA (with a couple of twists over the years, but the heart and soul is still there, and once a year we make 10 gallons on Liquid Stupid. The discussions around recipe building for the group brews taught anybody who was paying attention a LOT about recipe formulation and the contributions of different specialty grains and other ingredients.....all great stuff.....I was very happy to see that the banned got back together here.....

In know this is straying further off topic, but about the time the green board imploded, a lot of other forums and outlets were gaining speed like the BN and others. I kind of wonder sometimes what would have happened if it hadnt imploded if it would have lessened as people began participating in others. It is kind of sad to me that this board has never recaptured the same volume. However, I think we have the best knowledge and highest quality brewers of any board we just dont have thread volume.

The quality is here. Questions get answered quickly and properly. You do not see the silly debates like batch sparge Vs fly sparge. You don't see a question about bottling get answers like, "Bottling sucks! You should keg like I do. It;s great." Have we seen the old brewboard standard, "Is there any way to brew beer with, Uh know - pot?"

I've never really cared for Fat Tire, so I'd try the spotted cow just because of that.

We have a good balance here. Great brewers, very good information, very little in the way of transient visitors and the only douchnozzlery and asshatery that takes place (generally) in the PH. When a new brewer shows up on another board, he's lost in the vortex of all the other new members. But here... we hug & nuture them! :sarcasm: Seriously... where else would a new, hungry-for-info homebrewer get the kind of support and attention they would get here?
