I'm sure the adapter would push the price up that I may as well have bought a welding type regulator from the startI believe you can get an adapter to fit the yolk medical O2 regulator on an industrial O2 valve. CGA-870 is medical and CGA-540 is industrial.

true, true...EDIT: My tank is the common D size, which is 14CF, which is a lot of O2 when you use it 30 seconds at a time.I'm sure the adapter would push the price up that I may as well have bought a welding type regulator from the start

so I'm back at it. harbor freight sucks - where can I get a cheap regulator for this tank I have? also if this tank needs to be certified how much will that run me? the cost of this is starting to bother me now considering the hassle of not knowing what I need to buy and the time I'm wasting...So I decided to suck it up and ordered a new 20lb tank + new regulator (regulator from harbor freight). It's a weight off my shoulders as I was getting tired of trolling ebay.

I actually have an industrial tank (last time I started a new thread about a non-medical regulator the mods decided it made sense to merge it into this thread so to avoid that I just posted in here).I just bought one of those and it works just fine.If you already have the medical O2 cylinder, try taking it to the gas place and see if they will trade it for an industrial tank.

that exact regulator? are all of the industrial regulators and tanks the same connector? If not how can I figure out the what I need? I've been trying to find information on this but I can't seem to find any.I just bought one of those and it works just fine.If you already have the medical O2 cylinder, try taking it to the gas place and see if they will trade it for an industrial tank.

Now that I'm paying attention I just noticed this is CGA-540. My linkIt looks like this would work - where do I hook some tubing up to this thing? Is it the thing sticking out the side? For an industrial oxygen tank, they should all be CGA-540 threading. You can always ask to make sure.Medical oxygen tanks have a different valve, CGA-870.whatever regulator you purchase, make sure it is made for the correct CGA valve.

nice, that looks like the ticket. I'll need one when my medical tank empties.Wait till you get the thing to see what you'll need for the hose side. For my medical regulator there's a hose barb on the output, hookup was just like a barbed corny connector.f-it, I just bought the 0-8 LPM regulator. So where do I get the barb to hook onto this thing so I can hook a hose up to it?

The test on it is long expired and I don't think it'll be worth the hassle to retest and fill it as a medical tank. the guy at the welding place said he could give me some trade in on it towards a 540 valved tank.EDIT: this will be when it finally goes empty, in a lonnnnggg time.are you ditching the medical tank?
