I believe I read a post by Jack where he said the ring was there as an assembly aid and not for driving the other roller.
I have an original fixed and the adjustable one.
That seems right. It's certainly not necessary for using the mill.

I've got a unused JSP if anybody wants it. Make me an offer.
(I mean I'm not using it, not that it's new.)

Ken... Jump on George... I mean this!
My God, what if I hurt him? I don't wanna hurt George.
George, how much? Also, do we know if this is one with two active rollers (is that why it's so good) or is it because the knurls are better or what? I know someone said the rollers are longer so that part I get.

The JSP was just a solid mill - first one I bought when I started brewing again. I switched parts to go from fixed to adjustable gap soon after I bought it. He thought I was silly but sold me the parts. I flat wore it out finally. I was sorry to hear it's history.

if it's adjustable, I'll take it if Ken doesn't want it.

Ken, I can tell you that with nearly 20 years in my JSP without 2 active rollers, I get a great crush. I can't see how 2 active rollers would make it any better.

I have no idea. If it's adjustable, single roller driven but always seems to crush well without stopping I would definitely be interested.
I guarantee you, you are! IIRC, mine was maybe 140/150 new.

He actually emailed me directly today but he didn't mention the mill. I let him know that I was not in the market for anything at the moment but the mill was out of my thought process. I did email him back just now. Thanks for the heads-up, neddles. I could drive and be at his house in about 15 minutes.Another option... and I believe Ken knows DarkMagneto as well.

I looked it up - bought a cereal killer 4.5 years ago. When it arrived I thought it was a toy. I wasn't to bad to hook up to my beefy bodine I had been using. The only time I have had trouble with it has been when I reset the gap for some unmalted stuff. Bad move on my part. I really am considering a Corona again for that stuff since it's usually only a few pounds. Anyway I figure well over a ton of grain has gone through it. Still works fine

Somebody make me an offer, I don't have a price in mind.
Want the Bodine motor to go with it?

I'd be interested in the motor; what's the spec's?

I'll check and get back to you.
ETA: It's the 325 rpm Bodine, AC motor, suitable for direct drive. I'll throw in the spider and capacitors (though one of the caps may be bad IIRC) for $125 plus shipping.

It's around 300 - 325 rpm - perfect to use lovejoys to connect to the mill. It's a beast
somewhere I have wiring instructions for it to just run or run and reverse
