I bought a quart with about a half inch must in the bottom.

I asked Redmeck if they had any Hard Cider.

Redneck says just pop the top and put a balloon on top.

This makes sense but he said I don’t need a bigger bottle.

That is my biggest question.

Also should I add anything else?

:frank:

I know this ain’t the place but I’m in town and want to get any other stuff I may need.

Hoist!

I’d grabbed some dry yeast as a backup.

If the cider isn’t pasturized it will ferment just fine on its own. I doubt you have unpasteurized cider in the south but maybe. Seems too hot for apples. You can just order some yeast if you want and keep the cider in the fridge til it comes if it’s pasturized.

Yup. It’s a bit of a gamble, because it could/will get funky after a while, but if you just let it go it’ll probably be ready to drink in a couple weeks.

It won’t be as good as stack but it’s more natural :frank:

Redneck probably could have taught you everything you needed to know if you gave him a chance.

Redneck was from Canada?

Redneck was from McRae.....

When I walked up the first thing I asked was what is Frog Jam.....

Then I saw the cider with the must at the bottom..........

I thought WTF.....

It was only 5.99 for a quart.....

Redneck was definitely a Redneck....

Henry 30-30 on his lap on a outside chair......

If Zaph has ever been to Dublin the way I go from where I'm at he has seen it...............

:frank:

Redneck probably could have taught you everything you needed to know if you gave him a chance.

I talked to him for maybe 5 minutes...

He just said open the bottle, put a balloon on it and the natural yeast will take over.......

Yeah. I can get unpasteurized for $5.99/ gallon here. Maybe less if it's nearing expiration or I show up on pressing day and the cooler is full.

Pastuerized is actual the same price, but you gotta know a guy to get the fm good stuff.

I make "White Trash Cider" from apple juice, sugar and spices. Simple recipe, but makes an effervescent and easy to drink libation. Not as good as a real hard cider, but it'll do the job.

If it's just UV pasteurized, it will still ferment, in my experience the UV only nukes bacteria.

Hey Mic, so just put the balloon on it like the guy said?

He said it would ferment. All I had to do was open and put on a balloon.

No additional sugar or anything?
Can a Mod move this to wine mead and cider please?

If there is still viable yeast in the cider, then it will eat the sugar already present in the cider.

No need to add more.

Cool Thanks

I will crack it open and balloon it.
