I made this recently with WY1450 and just added the dry hops to the primary yesterday. Preliminary "testing" indicates very positive results.

yeah - I can imagine that would be a good yeast for this.

Indeed, very positive results. We went through a lot of this over the holiday weekend. If anyone is looking for a well dialed hoppy and delicious APA look no further. Make this.  Very highly recommended. Props to drez.

So out of curiosity what were your FG and OG numbers for yours with 1450?

So about 80% attenuation if I'm figuring that right. That's better than I ever get from that yeast. But then again I get low 70's from every yeast I use it seems.

1056/1272/1450 all seem to attenuate very similarly for me.

Really, so you have attenuation issues as well? I thought it was just me. I'm talking every yeast here across the board, not just 1450.

Yeah I figured. I'm still trying to figure my issue out. Like nettles 1056/1272/1450/US-05 all attenuate very similar, but it's in the low 70's

That is weird. I almost never have the chico strain do less than 75%.

My favorite yeast these days for hoppy beers.

Drez, any recent changes or recommendations for this recipe?

Not really to be honest.  I throw in a # of wheat sometimes just to use it up but other than that I like the original best.  As for yeast 1450 does a great job with it.  I think this will be one of my first beers of 2017 and I will be splitting it between two yeast to experiment.  Probably 1272 and 002 but I am not sure yet.   Something else I have been pondering is skipping the WP addition and just add it at day 3 in the fermenter and then follow up with the standard DH addition.  I have stated before but that seems to be a new trend, just bitter and then save it all for the dry hop.  I still think I am going to want a 5 minute addition though.  I have never been thrilled with what I get out of the WP even at different temps and times.
