Well back to the OP, I traded up my 10#er for a 20#er, and was very careful tightening down the nut this time. funny the one I got had teflon tape on the threads

How much did they charge you to do this? I'm wanting to trade up one of my 20 pounders to a full size tank.

they gave me $90 value for my #10 empty, the # 20 was valued $125 empty

Sounds fair.

 

I really want to go to the larger tank and plumb it throughout my brewroom. Part of me says to keep the smaller tank because my back isn't getting any younger.

If you do decide to plumb the entire room, be meticulous about your connections, and double check that it is leak free when you build it, as well as annually or so.

I'd prefer to do it with copper, but that might cost as much as the tank. :(
