so i am moving soon and i was packing up my beer supplies when i came across some ginger beer i brewed up about a year ago. I chilled and then popped the top........man did that top ever pop. sounded like a champagne bottle blowing out. cap hit the ceiling but there was minor overflow. still tasted great. but damn that scared the hell out of me.

I would consider myself very very lucky. If the cap went flying like that, I cant imagine the bottle exploding was too many psi or bottle defects or bottle agitations away.Glad it was good though!

It might be worth releasing the pressure a little on all bottles if you plan on transporting them.

Put them out in the hot sun. The ones that don't explode are good to go!
