so i am moving soon and i was packing up my beer supplies when i came across some ginger beer i brewed up about a year ago. I chilled and then popped the top........man did that top ever pop. sounded like a champagne bottle blowing out. cap hit the ceiling but there was minor overflow. still tasted great. but damn that scared the hell out of me.

I would consider myself very very lucky. If the cap went flying like that, I cant imagine the bottle exploding was too many psi or bottle defects or bottle agitations away.Glad it was good though!

It might be worth releasing the pressure a little on all bottles if you plan on transporting them.

Put them out in the hot sun. The ones that don't explode are good to go!It might be worth releasing the pressure a little on all bottles if you plan on transporting them.

currently storing them inside an ice chest. theres only about 4-5 left and if they blow at least they are contained.
