there is no way you can solve a problem like this for as little as 35 cents!!! This looks like a good fix as it should prevent the beer from drying inside the faucet.I had stuck fauget problems on my kegerator for a while. Then I started to force a couple quarts of hot water back down the tap into the keg each time a keg kicked. My kegerator came with a bottle that attached to the faucet and this was nice as it also flushed my beer dip tube in the keg. Now I use the kegerator for a fermentation chamber and use cobra taps out of a fridge in the garage.

Best plan is to just drink daily... and next time I go on vacation, the liquid lines get disconnected and the faucets go for an overnight soak. We take 2 week vacations each year, so it's just going to have to be part of the routine.

Instead of taking everything apart, you could just put some Star San or Beer Line Cleaner in a keg and run it through each line. Or get some forward seals and forget about it :1zhelp:

I only have 3 kegs and I use them for beer! :1zhelp: Would love to get some forward seals at some point, but I feel as though I must use the ones that came with the tower for at least a year (minimum) before I can squeek by the purchase of a forward seal faucet from my wife. Actually disassembling the unit took a matter of minutes. I futzed around more trying to get it unstuck after dipping it in water for 30 seconds. Once I gave up on that, I disassembled as much as I could (approximately 30 seconds and tossed the faucet (including the brass ball lever that wouldn't move) into water overnight. Last night I took them out and they worked like a charm. Spent another minute putting everything back together. Not too bad really. It was just my "first time" so I guess my cherry was popped on the whole "stuck faucet" business.

Make a "keg" from a 1 gallon garden sprayer. Fill it with PBW and flush your line before you leave for vacation. They should be going on sale soon.

This happened to me a few times with my old-school faucets. I had a friend go downstairs to the bar to get a beer and when he came back upstairs, he said, "Hey, is your tapper locked or something??" Grrrrrr. The Ventmatic Ultraflo faucets I have now are working properly, thank you God.
