Very soon my keg of MLPA will be kicked. I have two options for filling this keg up:1. An AIPA I brewed back in early June: OG: 1.07, FG: 1.016, IBU: ~952. A Scottish 80/- that I probably brewed at the end of April: OG: 1.055, FG: 1.015, IBU: ~24Both beers were put into cold storage after about 2-3 weeks in the primary. Is there any solid argument for kegging one over the other? I figure the Scottish 80/- needs more aging but maybe I'm wrong there...

If it were me, I'd save the Scottish a little longer. It's more of a fall beer, IMO.

Will the AIPA be aged enough at this point? I was leaning that way as well just b/c I feel like having something hoppy.

Uh, I'm probably not the one to ask this. I always rush beers. ;)

I had my last IPA in a keg in 10 days! Very fresh, the hops were outstanding! Go for the IPA

You gotta drink those IPAs as fresh as possible. It's been almost 3 months since brew day. Drink Up.

IPA, definitely. The late hop additions vaporize pretty quickly. Enjoy them while you can.I was listening to the the Jamil Show on scottish ales recently, he said he medaled with a 3 year old Scottish 60. I think it will age OK. :smilielol:

One more vote for the IPA, no question.

Your AIPA is a little bigger than mine, but I've been drinking the one I brewed in early-July for the last few weeks. Tastes great. It'll probably get a little better with age, but I think it's pretty damn good now.

Yeah - I'm a little concerned about the FG on it but it's still under the high end of the style guideline so hopefully it won't seem too sweet.

Not worried now - I just tasted what was left in the siphon hose and it's pretty incredible. I can only imagine it will get better with carbonation...

With 95 IBUs, I think you'll be fine. I accidentally mashed 3-4 degrees too high on mine, it started at 1.064, finished at 1.020, and only had 75 IBU. I can definitely detect the sweetness, and it's not what I was going for, but it's not cloying or unpleasant at all. It's got great body, but I was looking for something drier.
