I'm planning on making a batch of this one as well as HT's blueberry braggot for the group brew. I'm planning on getting it going within the next week if anybody is interested in joining in and comparing results.

I might be in on this. I already have two batches of mead bulk aging that used blueberries, and I don't really need a third. You planning to use the all grain or the extract recipe?

I'm going to have to find my book to check this out.

I'll be doing the all grain method. I'll use Marris Otter for the grain since it's what I have in stock. Not so sure on the crystal though. I've got Crystal 60 and some Crystal 25 around. I haven't decided which would be better.

I'll check the recipe when I get home tonight and pay a visit to the LHBS tomorrow. Should be ready to fly any time after that.

I have everything but the honey right now myself. Looking at picking up a 60# pail between everything I have planned so that's all that's slowing me down. There is a blizzard threat around here for the weekend so if that happens I won't be making the drive saturday to pick it up. So latest for me would be a 4/11 start.

I'd like to do this one too, but I'm into replacing my bathroom floor this weekend and my sister's condo flooring next weekend. I'll see about the weekend after that, though.

Yup same one. I plan to follow it to the 'T' as well since it's the first time trying this recipe.

Gotta ask, will you use cascade hops? he leaves it optional.

In the fermenter. Followed the recipe in the book (not sure if the website has permission to reprint it here) with the following exceptions: 1 ounce Cascade leaf hops (7.6%aa) for 60 minutes instead of 2 ounces pellets listed as optional.Malt was 2-row pale ale malt, crystal malt was 60. D47 rehydrated as per Lallemand's recommendations. OG 1.092. Lag time 3 hrs.

Good to see you got this one going. I didn't have time this weekend but I'm planning to get it started tomorrow. The in-laws are going to be out this weekend so the wife has been after me about everything for the past week. She's in class tomorrow night though so finally an evening to myself :rolf:

Need any help? I've never witnessed an all-grain brew.

I *might* have another change of plans for this evening. I'll let you know one way or another for sure but if I'm brewing you're more than welcome to join in on the fun!

Guest stopped by and helped me get this one in the books. I too deviated from the recipe on the hops. I had .25oz of 7.6%aa Cascade and 1oz of homegrown Willamette, presume it at the low end of 4%aa.Malt was Marris Otter, and crystal was crystal 60. D47 rehyrdrated in Go-Ferm. OG 1.100 pitched last night and had active fermentation by this morning.

Gravity check today came in at 1.016. How's yours coming along armagh? Since there is no suggested FG for this recipe what is a good stopping point for a braggot?
