Due to time constraints and some pretty crappy weather lately, I'm considering doing a small batch on the stovetop. It's a pretty anemic stove so 1-2 gallons most likely. I figure I'll do a brew in a bag, probably SMaSH (golden promise and zythos) beer. Since this is my first small batch and first BIAB, I'm trying to figure out what efficiency I should assume. I typically get 80% on my full brew rig, but I'm thinking that'll drop a bit. Anyone have an idea about efficiency for something like this? Anybody do something similar and have any tips?

I bet it won't drop that much, possibly not at all. Figure 70% maybe?

Not small batch. I did a few 3 gallon BIAB's in a cooler partial mashes before I went all grain, and that worked well. Now I BIAB full vol. 6 gallon batches. With Northern Brewer's standard crush and 60 min mashes I typically get very close to 83% each time. You'll probably just need to it do once and find out and adjust with DME accordingly.

Cool. I figure I'll shoot for 70% and then alter my recipes accordingly.
