My recipe uses about 50% more rye than Ruthless. I also think the hops are more aggressive in my recipe.A shout out to Brother Ken, hope we haven't jumped your thread. Somehow Columbus is still on the mark so far :)The RIPA has me interested though. With that much rye in Brother Denny's recipe, is there any comparison to Ruthless Rye?BTW, just got a case of that nectar yesterday....

What can you do with Columbus? Discover a new world, plunder, conquer, spread diseases and enslave native populations.Or you can use Columbus for bitter, flavor and aroma additions. Used to be (maybe still is) one of the Pac NW breweries made a Tomahawk IPA. Nothing but Tomahawk/Columbus hops. Very tasty brew.Personally, I like Columbus over Simcoe hops any day, any time, every time. YRMV.No worries... I'm learning what I can do with Columbus!

The must boil the flavor and aroma out of them if they do.I read that some huge percentage (like 80-90%) of all Willamette hops grown are sold to AB-InBev for Budweiser. On the other hand, considering how much Bud is brewed every year, both statements could be true.According to the head brewer at AB-InBev in Baldwinsville, NY, they use exclusively Columbus in Budweiser.

I wonder if they are just using it as and extract to just get the pure alpha they need?According to the head brewer at AB-InBev in Baldwinsville, NY, they use exclusively Columbus in Budweiser.

probably since inbev took over. They used to strictly use german hops. Inbev is all about doing it on the cheap and people have noticed in the quality.I wonder if they are just using it as and extract to just get the pure alpha they need?

well, what I write is from his mouth to my ears to your eyes and I saw the pellets with my own eyes and remember the IBUs on Budweiser isn't huge so maybe that flavor and aroma isn't going to be there in large part anyway.I wonder if they are just using it as and extract to just get the pure alpha they need?
