Apparently the brew pub is overwhelming the supply of Pliny. Guess there's no hope of getting it in FL anytime soon....Posted Imagehttps://seattlebeern...hington-market/

I've made Hop Hammer a couple of times and honestly prefer it to Pliny.

I like Pliny but prefer Blind Pig. I have not done the Hop Hammer yet.

We had a CT brewer do this recently. They pulled out of Mass to keep more of their beer in their home state for their home market and I am fine with it. Some of these places just cannot make more product and they have to do what they can to keep their core markets satisfied.

Same thing with Cigar City. They were all the up in NYC and I think they pulled out of most of their markets to satisfy the demand at home. The truth is that distributing is a low margin business when you can't self distribute. The distributors won't pay the higher price for the beer unless it's a ZOMG gotta have brew like Russian River. It sucks because they can break you from the start in a place like FL where you can't self distribute.

I think it's a great decision and encourages local breweries to do just as good.

Me too. BP is a ridiculously good beer.

Dry hopped my Blind Pig clone tonight. The airlock had been quiet for a few days but apparently the injection of fresh O2 woke up the yeast, cause it's bubbling away happily again.... lol

I always thought injecting o2 during or close to FG would cause oxidation.

More liekly it's nucleation points for any CO2 in solution to break out, hence the airlock activity.

I would agree, likely just degassing at this point

I don't think so. The yeast will happily take in any oxygen you give it.
