Alpine clone for Father in Law

Has anyone ever attempted to brew a Alpine clone My father in law Drinks it alot and id like to brew him a batch of something close to it.

Just from looking at the hideous flash-infested website and making a few assumptions, it looks like a standard American lager more or less. Apparently they have a proprietary lager yeast that would prevent a true clone. However, there's really no such thing as a true clone anyway. I think about the best you can do is brew a std. Am. lager, up the crystal a little bit, use a German yeast like 2206 and maybe increase the hops a tad. Then get feedback from your dad on how to make it closer to the original. Lather, rinse, repeat until you nail it.

Any Idea of what Hops would be needed its a 5% beer with much more flavor than say a budweiser.It did Win gold in World Beer Cup in 2000 I do believe.

They mention European hops so I'd guess some type of Hallertauer variety. Just a WAG tho...
