I know that Cav is a huge critic of bitters and was looking to make something fairly close to modern english bitter. Here's where I'm at:
Pale Ale Malt
.25-.5 lb c120 (extra dark british crystal 150L if I can find it)
Goldings @ 60 and 15
Cascade or Delta @ flame out (maybe try out the whirlpool addtion - other thread)
OG 1.045-1.050
28-30 IBU
Thoughts???

I just brewed up a bitter last weekend, pretty similar:
7.5 lb Maris Otter
0.75 lb Victory
0.33 lb English Extra Dark Crystal (160L)
mash: 154F
1.00 oz Styrian Goldings (6.1%) - 60 min - 19 IBU
0.50 oz Styrian Goldings - 30 min
0.50 oz Styrian Goldings - 15 min
0.75 oz Styrian Goldings - dry hop
Wyeast 1335 British Ale II
