I think that's a good way to put it.When I was in Munich last, I had a lot of Augustiner Helles from cask. The pressure was very high in the casks, so they would get glasses full of foam, let them settle, refill, etc.

Ah, Munich.....when in Munich, I have a very difficult time dragging my more than ample ass out of the Weisses Brauhaus.....fresh Hopfenweisse and Aventinus from the local tap, fantastic liver dumplings, and pork knuckle, with an Aventinus Eisbock to seal the deal and make it difficult to recall exactly where the hotel is <G>!!! Oh, and back to the topic, they are served in the appropriate, and very unique, glasses.https://www.truebeer.com/Aventinus-Beer-Glass_p_34.html

The slight curve in at the top makes a HUGE difference in aroma. Thus, I find shaker style pint glasses to be worthless. Try an IPA from a shaker pint and a becher glass side by side, and you will agree. For blonde ales, lagers, etc, I like the becher. i have several from Gordon Biersch. For most British styles, I prefer the Guinness style tulip pint. For high grav stuff, I prefer some type of smaller, footed glass - usually a Bell's Belgian tulip for me, but I have several kinds. The Dogfish footed goblet is very nice, too.For most standard American ales, my favorite by far is the Dogfish shaped pint glass. It is my go-to glass for everyday drinking.

Stopped into the local resale shop today, looked past about 10 hurricane glasses and there sat this exact glass. Heavy thick base, 20oz--$.99 Score!

19 oz Nonics are available at the Dollar Tree right now for $1 ea. https://www.dollartr...28869/index.proPosted Image

I had a case of these show up today. Cheaply made and thin glass, one was broken and another had a covex exterior bottom - into the glass recycling bin. For the $$ not bad for something I won't cry about when they get broken. Those extra few ounces are nice though. Using one now.............

They have them in our local store by the single glass.

Yeah, didn't want to make the drive to check. God know if I called to ask they woudn't have a clue. Probably would have gone over and bought a case of reading glasses.
