This stuff doesnt bend at all. Its close to being solid pipe.

are you talking about polyethylene tubing ?

I use the hose in loops to clean my plate and pwc with hot pbw then starsan all the time. My hose is probably 3 yrs old with hardly any trace of staining. Cleaning is the key to any hose longevity. I've seen the silicone stuff far dirtier than my hose.

Can't argue with that! I've had my silicone tubing for years as well. The pvc tubing I used to use was not reinforced, and probably one of the reasons why I moved away from it. Now the silicone tubing works so well for me, I wouldn't think to change it. Sounds similar to you - it just works.
