AFAIK it is. I have 2 types of silicone tubing in my setup and the 1/8" is at least 2x as thick as the other stuff I have (came with my AutoSparge)BeachIs 1/8 wall thickness the thick walled stuff?

Polyvinyl ChorideHmmmm, Ive been using reinforced vinyl tubing from HD since the day I started brewing. My brew buddy just pointed out that the label on this tubing says nothing about PVC while the spec on their site says its made of PVC. Why do they call it vinyl? Wtf is this all about?https://www.homedepo...g&storeId=10051

This stuff doesnt bend at all. Its close to being solid pipe.I have purchased tubing from McMaster, a couple times but was never very happy with it.The stuff I got from Williams Brewing is the stuff that works as I want,https://www.williams...foot-P3038.aspx

Curious, what has been the issue with the McMaster stuff? Other than not being clear I have not had issue with it.I have purchased tubing from McMaster, a couple times but was never very happy with it.The stuff I got from Williams Brewing is the stuff that works as I want,https://www.williams...foot-P3038.aspx

The stuff I got is flimsy and collapses to easily. I thought I was buying the thick stuff. To be honest, I do not know if the McMaster part I ordered and the McMaster P/N shown in this thread is the same stuff. I ordered from McMaster years ago. I know I am happy with the stuff from Williams, that is why I mentioned it.Curious, what has been the issue with the McMaster stuff? Other than not being clear I have not had issue with it.

Got ya, I did order some thin stuff from them once and it was awful so I can see the issue. The stuff I got is flimsy and collapses to easily. I thought I was buying the thick stuff. I use the hose in loops to clean my plate and pwc with hot pbw then starsan all the time. My hose is probably 3 yrs old with hardly any trace of staining. Cleaning is the key to any hose longevity. I've seen the silicone stuff far dirtier than my hose. How often do you have to replace the reinforced pvc tubing?
